Marcia Ann (Boudreaux) Lopez

Marcia Ann Lopez, 66, passed away unexpectedly on Oct 26, 2023. Marcia was born on March 24, 1957 in Brownsville, TX to James and Maggie Boudreaux. She married Mark Lopez on April 28, 1973 and they had 4 children. Mark and Marcia moved their family to Canon City in June of 1980. Marcia worked as a substitute health tech at most of the schools in Canon City for many years and as a full-time health tech at Harrison School for 21 years where she was loved by the staff and the children she helped.

Marcia helped with Cinco De Mayo at some of the schools where she would dress in her Mexican dress and make her special Mexican food which included flour tortillas, salsa, pico de gallo, and tamales. Marcia, first and foremost, loved the Lord and her family. Tuesday nights were her family nights when she would make dinner for Mark, her sons, grandson, Mateo and granddaughter, Jayden. She always made her family a cake from scratch for their birthdays. She loved spending time with her best friends Marsha and Kathy. She was selfless and showed grace and kindness to everyone she met. Marcia was a pillar of our community and touched so many lives. She loved collecting stuffed bears and beanie babies, playing her guitar, and her flower garden.

Marcia is survived by her husband, Mark; son, Israel; daughter, April (Jeff Burgess); son, James; grandsons, Taylor Lopez and Mateo Lopez; granddaughters, Jayden Gray and Kallani Hartley; sister, Kathy Boudreaux; nephew, Chuck (Tracy) Louvieres and their children, Benjamin and Matthew; and her dog Rambo.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Maggie and James Boudreaux; brother, James Boudreaux Jr.; sister, Margret McNaughton; son, Jacob Lopez and granddaughter, Alli Ranee Lopez.

Visitation will be on Monday, November 6, 2023, from 5-7 p.m. at Holt Chapel of the Garden: 806 Macon Ave. in Canon City, and a Memorial Service for Marcia will be on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at 1 p.m at Wilson Funeral Home: 1449 S. 9th St. in Canon City.
