Margy May White

Margy May White passed away with her family by her side on June 28, 2022, at the age of 88 years old. She was born August 10, 1933 in Jansen, Colorado, to Orville and Pearl Calkins.

She loved everything about horses, and as a young girl she loved to rodeo, and participate in rodeo pageants. It was her dream to be the first female Jockey. When her father passed away, her dream was gone, so she found a new joy, to travel with her boys as a rodeo mom. She had a very special bond with her daughter, Shirley, they were like two peas in a pod. Everyone knew Margy’s world revolved around her kids, grand kids, great-grandkids and her great-great-granddaughter, Elsa.

Margy also worked many years cooking at restaurants, nursing homes, the hospital and in schools. She married Joe Earl White in Raton, New Mexico.

She is survived by her children, Joe Jr. (Diane), Dan (Linn), Roy (Darlene), Ray (Teri) and Shirley (Greg) Schwab; grandkids, Joe, Dan Jr, Misty, Jandi, Gary, Chad, Amanda, Tye, Athena and Silas Schwab; many great-grandkids and a great-great-grandchild; as well as her special friend Alden Gray. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers and two sisters. She will be deeply missed by all.

A grave side service will be held Friday, July 15, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Mountain Vale Memorial Gardens in Canon City, Colorado.
