Maria Hedwig (Simon) Logue

Maria Hedwig (Simon) Logue, of Canon City, Colorado passed away on May 9, 2022. She was born on June 22, 1936, to Edmund and Kunigunda Simon.

Maria was born and raised in Fuchsstadt, Germany. Then in 1958, at the age of 21, Maria moved to the United States and lived with her sister in Livermore, California. Maria babysat and did housework until 1962 when she started working at Valley Memorial Hospital as a dishwasher. She worked her way up to be the hospital’s cook for 30 years before retiring.

Maria married Harry Logue in 1967, and together they raised three children. They built their own home from the ground up in Discovery Bay, California, and enjoyed traveling the country in their motorhome. In 2001, they moved to Canon City, Colorado, where one of their children resided. She and Harry also wintered in Arizona until 2007, when Harry got sick and passed away in 2008. He was the love of her life!

Maria is remembered as a wonderful friend who was always happy to share her faith in God.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Canon City, with interment following at Lakeside Cemetery.
