Marjorie Herrera

Marjorie Rose Herrera (Zamarripa),86, passed away on December 12, 2025, surrounded by family. She was born in Florence, CO to Leo and Helen Zamarripa on November 29, 1939. Marge was raised and resided in Florence with her ten brothers and one sister.

Marge is survived by her siblings, John Zamarripa, Tom Zamarripa, and Helen Vigil; daughters, Bernadine Herrera, Charlotte (Scott) Plummer, Diane (Mike) Johnson, and Elyssia Herrera; grandchildren, Mariah Rose Russell, Hannah M. Plummer, Christopher Johnson, Selena Docis, Jamie Johnson, and Matthew Herrera; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph Robert Herrera; son, Arthur Herrera; and siblings, Ben, Ernie, Alfred, Leo, Adolph, Arthur, Robert and Edward.

Marge was best known for owning and running Conyo’s Taco House and her selflessness for those in need. She often gave meals away to those who needed them, never expecting anything in return. She loved her faith, her family, and travelling. She was a wonderful storyteller, many of her stories still preserved in the memories of friends and family who survive her. Marge loved life, enjoying dancing, learning, and reading, always having a book with her.

She was active in the Catholic Church, and strong in her faith, praying the rosary every day she was able, without fail. She was an avid sports fan of all sports but especially loved the Denver Broncos.

Marge was loved and will be missed by her family as well as many in the Fremont County community.

Services will be held at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Florence, Colorado. The Rosary will be at 9:25am followed by Funeral Mass at 10:00am on Friday, December 19, 2025.
