It is with deep sadness that we let the world know that Mark Francis Gilchrist, beloved

The youngest of six children, he was born in Weaverville CA on August 6, 1960, to
Lloyd Gilchrist and Betty Gilchrist née Maloney. The family later moved to Bangor CA

Arizona and 2 tours in Germany and the UAE during the Gulf War. After returning home
to Oroville, he had various positions which included driving trucks, manufacturing and
welding and graduating from Butte College in 1995 as a heavy equipment operator. He
later moved to NV where he worked as a security guard and quality control officer. In
2012, he moved to OR where he worked at Jeld win Windows and then retired from
Deschutes County. He spent his last years in Canon City, Colorado.

Preceded in death by his parents, Mark is survived by his loving wife Terri, his
daughters Kristina Diaz and husband Ralph, Heather Hough and husband Tyler, and

Mark was very proud to be a veteran. He loved the time he spent in Germany serving
his country. He was an avid outdoorsman; he loved hunting, fishing and being in the
mountains. He enjoyed participating in city league softball and flag football. He
especially loved being with his family, particularly his grandchildren, nieces, and
nephews. Mark loved to work with wood, building and fabricating many different
projects. One of his joys was taking rides in his truck and seeing new things as long as
it involved being in the trees somewhere.
