In Loving Memory of Michael (Mike) John McCune (Caretaker)
Mike passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
His story began in the early morning on December 7, 1973. He was the beloved son of Alice and John. Mike was born and raised in Canon City and graduated from Canon City High School in 1992. His passions were his children, grandchildren and riding his Harley. Through his love of riding he became a member of the Fly-In Wheels Motorcycle Club. He was fortunate to find the love of his life Wendy who he married on July 29, 2023.
Mike will be dearly missed by his wife, Wendy Mccune; parents, Alice and Mike Cone and John and Pam McCune; sister, Michelle (Mark) Taylor; brothers, John McCune and JR Cone; son, Christopher (Cassie) McCune; daughters, Kala (Skyler) Hooper and Jaydynn (Cameron) Pryor; stepchildren, Bryce and Bryanna Carlson; grandchildren, Jonathan, Payton , Elly, Ariah, Babiee, Graysen, Payten, Sage, and one on the way.
He will always be loved and respected by the Fly-In Wheels Nation; he lived by “I Am My Brother’s Keeper”
Services will be on November 7, 2025 at 12:00 pm at Wilson Funeral Home in Canon City followed by a graveside service at Lakeside Cemetery. Everyone is invited back to the funeral home for lunch and to share memories.
