Monroe “Gary” McCallister, 74, of Penrose passed away March 3, 2021. He was born November 27, 1946 in Cañon City to Monroe and Helen (Cooper) McCallister. A Navy veteran, Gary served in the Vietnam conflict and was a long-time member of the V.F.W. He worked as a drywaller and later owned an antique shop. Gary loved his antiques, enjoyed camping and going to auctions.
He is survived by his loving wife, Stephanie (Wood) McCallister; children, Beth, Leanna, Jody, Trevor; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Jim; numerous extended family members and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, numerous aunts and uncles.
