Nancy Kattnig Colette Obituary

Nancy Kattnig Colette, 87, of Cañon City, Colorado, passed away on December 4,2025.
 A lifelong resident of Cañon City, Nancy was deeply rooted in her community and her faith. She was an active member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, where she was in the PEO and dedicated countless hours over the years and built lasting friendships.

Nancy is survived by her three children, who were the pride of her life: daughter, Debra and Roy Fowler, and their family: grandson, Keegan and Tara Fowler and great-grandson, Ian, granddaughter, Tennille and Artemus Burton, great-grandson, Tyler and Kenzie Jaenicke and great-great grandson, Carter, great-great-granddaughters, Emelia and Holland, great-granddaughter, Kimberlee and Nic Gatewood and great-great-grandson, Brody, grandson, John Fowler and Kendle Moon, granddaughter, Rebecca Fowler and Adam Rakaska; son, Paul and Ingrid Kattnig, and their family: grandson, Justin and Rachel Kattnig, grandson, Adam and Carly Kattnig, granddaughter, Kirsten Kattnig and Malachai; son ,Todd and Veronica Kattnig, and their family: grandson, Jeff Kattnig, grandson, Steve and Amanda Kattnig and great-granddaughter Rylie,

She was preceded in death by husband, Paul Kattnig, husband , Wayne Colette, and many other cherished loved ones.

Nancy gave generously of her time and talents. She enjoyed being involved in her community as part of the Red Hat society, and leading tai chi classes at the community center. In her younger years, she was the leader in the Tally-Ho 4-H Club and supported the Cañon City High School band as a devoted booster parent. She belonged to a local square-dancing group and cherished the friendships she made there. Professionally, Nancy built a successful and respected career in real estate, known for her dedication, warmth, and integrity.

She embraced life fully—enjoying bridge, camping, fishing, and even traveling to all 50 states and created countless memories with those she loved. Above all, Nancy was the beloved matriarch of her family, offering guidance, strength, and unwavering love. Her presence will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

A funeral service will be held at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Cañon City, Colorado, on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Interment at Mountain Vale Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the church in Nancy’s memory.
