Peggy Martin Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Peggy Carol Martin, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Peggy passed away on May 25, 2024, in Westcliffe, Colorado.

Peggy was born on October 6, 1952, in Shirley, Massachusetts to David Sr. and June Kipp. She dedicated her life to caring for others as a Registered Nurse, later earning her master’s in nursing education. Peggy was a devout Baptist and a cherished part of her church community.

She had a passion for woodworking, sewing, and photography. She spent many hours volunteering with a church organization during the pandemic and returned to work with the Custer County Health Department.  Peggy's love for teaching and nursing was evident in every aspect of her life, and she touched the lives of countless individuals through her dedication and kindness.

Peggy married Paul S. Martin on December 6, 1987 at Church of the Savior, who survives her, along with her daughter, Cindy G. Kendrick; stepsons, Roger, Jamie, and Matt Martin; her brothers, David Kipp Jr. and Matthew Kipp; six grandchildren: Emily, Mitch, Joseph, Zack, Dustin, and Daytona; and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, David Sr. and June Kipp; and her granddaughter Emily.

A memorial service to celebrate Peggy's life will be held at 2:00 PM on June 7, 2024 at Pueblo West Baptist Church, located at 180 E. Croyden Dr. Pueblo West, CO. Pastor Paul Medved will officiate the service. Peggy will be cremated, with inurnment in Westcliffe.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to be made to a charity of your choice in Peggy's name.

Peggy's compassionate spirit and loving nature will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her memory be a blessing.
