It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Peter Bedros Sarafian, a beloved father, grandfather, husband, and friend. Peter passed away on October 7, 2024 in Canon City, CO.
Peter was born on June 3, 1939, in Richmond, Virginia, where he helped with his family's restaurant business. Not long after graduating high school, he moved to Florida where he eventually worked for Delta Airlines and retired with them after nearly 30 years. Later, he and his wife became owner/operator truck drivers and drove cross country together.
Outside of work, Peter was dedicated to the Lord and taught Sunday school at the First Baptist Church of Pine Hills. After moving to Colorado he was very involved with his church in LaVeta, Colorado. Peter was very proud of his vegetable garden and was always willing to share the fruits of his labor. He enjoyed making others laugh and enjoyed joking around with the wonderful employees at St Thomas-More Hospital and the Progressive Care Center in Canon City, Co.
Peter is survived by his wife of 42 years, Rene; his 7 children and step-children, Kendall Fredrickson(John), Robert Sarafian, Bruce Sarafian (Karen) Elizabeth Sarafian Geldmaker (Kyle), Geoffrey Pugh (Tammy), Virginia Ray, Eric Pugh; his 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Alma Sarafian, his 5 siblings, Taquehi, Miriam, Margaret, Walter and Michael, daughter, Leigh Ann and step-son, Bryan.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Samaritans Purse for the victims of storms Helene and Milton.
