Rick R Cook, 75, passed away on September 26, 2024, at his home. He was born on January 9, 1949
in Lamar, Colorado to Ralph L Cook and Edna Belle (Davis) Cook. He had two sisters, Leann and
Jody, and a brother Grady.
He loved adventures, being outdoors, gardening, fishing, and hunting. He started grade school in
a one-room schoolhouse south of Las Animas, Colorado. The family moved to Stanton County
Kansas in 1958, attending Manter grade school and high school. Manter and Johnson schools
consolidated in 1966. Rick graduated from Stanton County High School in 1967.
He graduated from Emporia State University in 1971 with a Bachelor of Business Administration.
He worked as a bookkeeper for Pepsi Cola bottling in Emporia and retired as a case manager for
Kansas SRS.
He married Sharon McCamman. They later divorced. He later married Diana Howe and they
moved to Cañon City in 2005.
He loved the Kansas City Chiefs, the Denver Broncos, and the Nuggets and he REALLY LOVED HIS
DOGS!
He was predeceased by his parents, sister, Leann, and brother, Grady. He is survived by his wife
Diana and sister, Jody (Bill) Schone. 5 nieces, 4 nephews and numerous cousins.
