Robert (Bob) Wayne Hemphill passed away on January 15, 2024, in Canon City, Colorado of natural causes. Known to many as the “Bible Answer Man,” competitor of strategic military board games, maker of “lists,” and avid reader of science fiction. Bob also enjoyed watching classic western and war movies and had honesty in his speech. Lastly, he was known as “The Gentle Giant” to his friends and family. Bob graduated with an accounting degree from Pueblo Community College.
He was born in Spokane, Washington on June 2, 1951, to Robert Wayne Hemphill and Adel Ralein (Godfrey) Hemphill. Bob was a father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and son.
Bob is survived by his sons, Peter, Caleb, Aaron (Ashlee), Tomas (Samantha), and Joseph (Yuan); and grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Dorothy (Jeff); nieces, Jackie (Tony) and Juli; and a great nephew. In addition, he is survived by his stepmother, Elane; stepbrothers, Bruce and Mark; and the mother of his children, Carolee. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Wayne Hemphill and Adele Ralein Godfrey Hemphill Faler; stepfather, Harold Leonard Faler; and stepbrother, Steven Faler.
Bob will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. May he rest in eternal peace. No service is planned at this time.
