Robert Crofford

Robert Cecil Crofford, 92, went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 16, 2023.  Bob was born to Cecil Alonzo and Grace Eleanor Pearl Crofford in Alamosa, CO.

Bob proudly served his country for 21 years in the United States Air Force starting as a pastry chef and retiring as a TSGT Jet Engine Mechanic on F4s.  While he was stationed in Upper Heyford Air Base, Oxfordshire, England he met and married the love of his life, Audrey Crosfield on December 21, 1953.  They have two children, Donna (Dave) Costantino and Robert (Shannon) Crofford.   

After retiring from the USAF, Bob worked for Greeley Gas Company as a journeyman pipefitter for 20 years.  After Bob retired from Greeley Gas, he and Audrey traveled the United States by motorhome visiting the Southern US and Arizona.  Bob enjoyed flying radio control airplanes, a hobby shared with son Bob and grandsons Cory and Casey.

Bob enjoyed celebrating America’s Independence with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren every year,  always hosting a celebration at his house with a potluck BBQ and fireworks. Good food, great times and lots of noise.

Bob is survived  by his children, Donna and Bob; grandchildren, Danelle (Jeff)  Crank, Cory (Erin) Crofford, Casey (Erica) Crofford, Kyle Crofford, Kevin Crofford and Cassidy (Cody) Crofford; and four great grandchildren, Jocelyn, Damon, Kenley and Nyah.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.

Bob will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.  May his soul rest in peace.

A graveside service will be held at 2p.m on Monday, November 27, 2023 at Mountain Vale Memorial Gardens: 1700 Chestnut St. in Canon City.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sangre de Cristo Hospice.  Services entrusted to Holt Family  Funeral Home.
