Robert Lindley Obituary

Robert Carl Lindley was born on June 16, 1944, to Charles E. and Ethel Lindley in Pueblo, Colorado. Bob lived his life in the Penrose and Canon City. He graduated from Florence High School in 1963. He joined the Navy and then on active duty for two years during the Vietnam conflict on the USS Galveston. He was married to Nancy for over 58 years and raised his two children, Mark and Kimberly. He has six grandchildren: Tyler, Brittney, Bijah, Chandler, Destiny, and Alexiaver. Bob was a volunteer fireman in Canon City and worked at Cotter Corporation for 30 years. He then worked for Fremont County Road and Bridge and loved to plow snow. He was actively involved in bowling acted as secretary for many leagues and helped run numerous tournaments. He loved to fish and take his boat out on the water. He often went camping with his family. He and Nancy raised ten puppies for the Guide Dogs for the Blind. Bob was heavily involved in the 4-H community, helping out many kids in addition to his own.

He is survived by his wife Nancy, son Mark and wife Jennifer Lindley, daughter Kimberley and husband William Cornell, his brother E. Pat, and his wife Rose Lindley.

A celebration of life will take place on Thursday August 8th between 3:30 and 6:30 at the Grandview Christian Church (3245 Grandview Avenue - Canon City, CO  81212) in the fellowship hall.
