Robert Tyndall, age 82, passed away on July 8, 2024 in Canon City, CO. He was born October 6, 1941 in Chicago, IL, to Charles and Birdie (Lutz) Tyndall. Robert graduated from Lane Tech High School in 1959. He married JoAnn McCarey on December 1, 1961, a marriage that lasted over 60 years. Robert served his country as a Veteran of the United States Army, as well as a career as a police officer with the Addison Police Department in Addison, IL, retiring as lieutenant after 20 years. He was also a security officer for the Cheyenne Mountain Conference Resort in Colorado Springs, CO. When they moved to Canon City, Robert and JoAnn served at the Holy Cross Abbey, St. Thomas More Chapel and St. Michael Catholic Church. Robert’s faith was very important to him.
Robert had many interests, including western movies, animals but especially horses, and he was a loyal Cubs fan. He kept a meticulous yard and was a hard worker in everything he did, he had a wicked sense of humor, and loved his country, but most of all, he loved his family. Robert will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
