Bob, age 77 of Pueblo West, Colorado got his wings on December 10, 2021. Bob was born on June 20, 1944, to father Florencio Jose and mother Elvira Maria (Cisneros) Lucero.
After graduating from Pueblo South High School in 1962, Bob enlisted in the Navy in January of 1963 to 1965, during Vietnam, and was honorably discharged. After leaving the Navy, while promised to the love of his life, he married Virginia Juanita (Cruz) Lucero and started their family. Bob decided to further his education by graduating from the University of Southern Colorado in May of 1978. He worked for the Department of Corrections as a welding instructor for 10 years before retiring to work on his many hobbies: wood carving, woodturning, hunting, fishing, camping, waterskiing, ceramics, painting, and playing guitar. Bob had an engineer’s mind and completed many different projects (car repair, kitchen renovations, landscaping, house repairs, welding hitches, and taught welding) for many family members that remain. Bob loved spending time with his family, and playing cards was ranked very high on his list of entertainment as well as hobbies. Anybody that knew Bob made a lifetime friend and loved him dearly.
He leaves behind daughters, Michaele Marie (Jeffery) Aschom and Julie Lynne (William) Cowden; son, Robert Abran (Rachel) Lucero Jr.; grandchildren, Tyrel (Stephanie) Cowden, Megan Cowden, Stephanie Stitt, Ashley Aschom, Brittany Aschom, Anthony (Lynette) Aschom, Brenton Aschom, Tony (Amber) Fisher, Shea (Clayton) Bryant, Luke Lucero, Shad Sugg, and Tevis Brownlee; as well as 12 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Vera Lucero; sister and brother-in-law, MaryAnne and Ray Avery; and father-in-law, Mario Cruz.
