Rodney Garrett

Rodney Garrett, born July 3, 1950, in Pennsylvania, peacefully passed away on July 2, 2023. Rodney, a man of many passions and a heart full of love, is mourned by his daughters Lona and Charise Garrett, and his ex-wife Carol Garrett.

Rodney was a man whose warmth and kindness permeated through every interaction he had. He worked for many years at City Market, spreading joy to many who met him. His personality was a beacon of light that brightened every room he entered. He cherished his family deeply, and truly believed that love, kindness, and laughter were the key ingredients to a fulfilling life. To know Rodney was to experience these values firsthand.

A music lover to his very core, Rodney appreciated all genres. He leaves behind an extraordinary legacy through his own music, impacting numerous lives and leaving a void that will be profoundly missed by many. Rodney also enjoyed the thrill of football, rooting for his favorite teams, the Dallas Cowboys and the Denver Broncos.

He had a zest for life that was expressed in his love for good food. Rodney's favorite dishes were simple, yet satisfying - Reeses and burgers. He took great pleasure in live music performances, his favorite color was purple, and above all, he valued family, demonstrating this in his everyday interactions and relationships.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Rodney's honor on July 28th, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Wilson Funeral Home: 1449 S. 9th St in Canon City, CO. Rodney's life was a testament to love, kindness, and the power of laughter. His leaving marks the loss of a compassionate spirit, a skillful musician, and a beloved father and friend. It is not in death that we will remember him, but in the vibrant, beautiful life he lived.
