Rosa Lee (Reeves) Chumbley

Rosa Lee Chumbley was born 1943 in Olney, Texas to Iva and Horace Reeves.  Rosa was the 9th child of 11.

Rosa graduated in 1961 East High in Pueblo.  In 1964 she received an AA degree from York College, York, Nebraska.

Rosa Married Frank Chuck Jr. in 1964 before moving to Philadelphia.  They had one son Mark Chuck.  In 1975 they divorced, and Rosa and Mark moved to Canon City.

Rosa met Don Chumbley and they were married in 1978.  They celebrated 40 years before Don’s passing in 2018.

Rosa taught 4-H macrame.  She was a past president of Elkettes 610.  She was an avid supporter of Mile High Down Syndrome Walk on behalf of her grandson, Brice Chuck.  Because of friends and family and their generosity, Brice was able to collect in 7 years $42,000 for these walks.

Rosa retired as Harrison Elementary Secretary after 19 years.

Rosa is survived by her son, Mark (Terri) Chuck, Parker, CO. Stepsons: Torey (Carin) Chumbley, Brent (Rachel) Chumbley, and Todd (Christina) Chumbley, her Stepdaughter: Jill (Harlan) Ottaway all of Sacramento, CA. Grandchildren: Spencer (Ally Young) Chuck, Brice Chuck, Parker CO, Brandon (Monica) Ottaway, Dylan (Ashley Lorton) Ottaway, Trevor Chumbley, Gunner Chumbley all of Sacramento, CA, Hunter (Marquelle) Emmert, Plano, TX, Joseph and Abigail Chumbley, Wilson, NH. Great Grandchildren: Paige and Benton Ottaway, Carmichael, CA. Sisters:  Pat Olson, Pueblo, Glenda Giles, TX., Brothers Joe Reeves, AZ., Cliff (Anne) Jaco, Pueblo

Preceded in death by her husband Don Chumbley, her parents, 5 sisters and 2 brothers.

Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on November 9, 2022 at Wilson Funeral Home 1449 S 9th St., Canon City, CO 81212, Please dress casual. Reception to follow memorial service at Elks Club 404 Macon Avenue, Canon City, CO.
