Sandra "Sandi" Rose (Bushard) Specht

Sandra “Sandi” Rose Specht of Cotopaxi, CO, passed away surrounded by loved ones on May 11, 2022. Sandi was born to Eugene and Rose Bushard on December 21, 1948, in New Ulm, MN. Sandi spent most of her childhood in Great Fall, MT, graduating from Central Catholic High School in 1966.

Sandi moved to Boulder, CO, in 1970. Sandi was active in the Boulder community, serving as treasurer for Boulder Volleyball Club and Boulder Valley Little League. She served as a court-appointed child advocate (CASA) for many years in Boulder. Sandi was an active member of the Grace Lutheran church community.

Sandi married Michael “Mike” Specht in 1982.  They owned and operated Boulder RV in Boulder, CO, from 1977 to 2005. They retired to Cotopaxi, CO, in 2006. Sandi was also an active member in the Cotopaxi community, where she served as a volunteer dispatcher for Deer Mountain Fire Protection District and a volunteer for their fundraising organizations. She served as treasurer for Glen Vista Property Owners Association and the Deer Mountain Community Organization.

Sandi loved playing softball and flag football, racing jeeps, long mountain drives, camping, reading, playing dominoes, and spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.

Sandi is survived by her husband, Mike; children, Kory, Cindy, Jesse, Amy, and Mia; grandchildren, Karina, Leela, Kai, Owen, Otto, Abby, Garrett, Max, and Ian; brothers, Darrell, Rick, Larry, Bryon, Reid, Robyn, and David; and friends who adopted her as their grandma, Symone and Sydney.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Rose Bushard, and her brother, Norbert Bushard.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 AM on Friday, July 8, 2022, at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Boulder, CO.
