Thomas Weldon Lester was born on March 15, 1941, in Alameda, California to Velpo and Lola (Grisham) Lester. He departed this life on May 8, 2022, in Canon City, Colorado.
Tom retired from the federal government where he was employed as a National Bank Examiner. Prior to that, he worked for The Fremont National Bank, the Pueblo Army Depot, and the U. S. Army. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening and geology. He spent time volunteering at the Dinosaur Museum, where he assisted with preparing the stegosaurus for the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. He had also been actively involved in the Canon City Chamber of Commerce.
Tom is survived by his wife of 63 years, Peggy; daughter, Sheri (Randy) Ackerman; grandchildren, Aaron (Riley), Jeremy (Princi), and Rebekah; two great-grandsons, Oliver and Sawyer; and brothers, David (Tilly) and Timothy (Anne).
