Timothy “Tim” Rash passed away on February 24, 2026, in Canon City, Colorado, at the age of 67.
Tim was born on June 23, 1958, in Maryland to Ronald Leroy Rash and Katherine Ellen Smith. After graduating high school, he served his country in both the United States Air Force and the United States Army. While in the Air Force, he worked as a jet mechanic, and later served as an artilleryman in the Army.
Following his military service, Tim spent most of his life working as a mechanic, a trade that suited his intelligence, work ethic, and ability to fix just about anything. He lived in Maryland for many years before moving to Colorado in the early 2000s. Tim was known for being witty and quietly funny, often delivering humor in his own understated way. He had a love for motorcycles and music and was always willing to lend a hand when someone needed help.
He is survived by his brothers, John Dale Rash and Randall Smith Rash; and his stepfather, Nelson Liskow. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Leroy Rash, who passed away in 2001; and his mother, Katherine Ellen Smith, who passed away in 2021.
A private gathering will be held at Holt Family Funeral Home on Friday, March 20, 2026 at 2p.m. to celebrate Tim’s life. All who knew him are welcome to remember and reflect on the life he lived. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Humane Society of Fremont County.
