Vicki Sue Herrell Peters went to be with her sweet Jesus, August 7, 2025. Vicki passed in her sleep at her home in Cañon City, Colorado. Vicki was preceded in death by her father, Jack Herrell, her sister, Angela Klaus, a nephew, Jordan Klaus, and a dear friend, Marion Brecheisen. Vicki is survived by her mother, Carolyn Herrell, Cañon City, Colorado, her son, Doug Peters, granddaughters, Lexi and Kairi Peters, all of Garden City, Kansas; nieces, Kylana Klaus, Holcomb, Kansas, Ally Slobko, Garden City, Kansas, and nephews, Ryan Herrell, Cañon City, Colorado, Nathan and Johnathan Klaus, Garden City, Kansas; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins, plus many precious friends. Vicki was born at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas to parents Jack and Carolyn Herrell, April 21, 1963. Vicki grew up in Garden City, Kansas, and attended Garden City, Kansas schools. In her youth, Vicki enjoyed playing softball with the Roses Softball Team. Vicki was employed as a waitress in many of Garden City’s finest restaurants and she was employed by Dillons West, Garden City, Kansas as a delivery person for the floral and pharmacy departments. In August 1982, Vicki married Douglas Peters. They were married 13 years. In 1998, Vicki worked with employer and dear friend Marion Brecheisen for 10 years. Vicki attended the Holcom Community Church. Vicki retired to live in Colorado Springs and Cañon City, Colorado in 2008.
