Viola Marie Case

Viola “Vi” M. Case passed away Saturday the 14th of December 2019 in Canon City, Colorado at the age of 82. 

Vi was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Julia A. (Kruger) and Edward O. Lowry on February 27, 1937. She grew up with her sister Coriena and brother Bob, attending Pikes Peak Junior Academy, ice skating, and attending baseball games. 

After graduation from Pikes Peak Junior Academy she attended Campion Academy in Loveland, Colorado and then Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska. She made numerous friends throughout her education that have remained close until the time of her death. 

On June 10, 1973 Vi married the love of her life, John L. “Larry” Case while living in Brighton, Colorado. In 1975 they moved to Cañon City where they permanently settled. 

Through the years, she was active in support of the Cañon City Seventh-Day Adventist church and the church school. Her many friends from church remember her for her caring, generous heart and ever present sense of humor. Her family remembers her devotion to ensuring her family’s contentment and her sacrifices to provide her children with a loving home and a good education. Vi loved to read to her children and grandchildren and enjoyed writing Christmas  letters in poetry form. 

Vi is survived by her sons Joel (Marilyn), Rick (Cristina), and Dave (Shelly), brother Bob, and 7 grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her husband Larry Case, sister Coriena Hendricks, and brother-in-law John Hendricks. 

Vi’s memorial services will be held Saturday, December 21 at the Cañon City SDA church at 3:00 pm with a meal following.
