Virginia Juanita Lucero, age 79 of Pueblo West, left unexpectedly on April 15, 2026. Virginia was born in Pueblo, CO on July 4, 1946 to mother Alice Bargas/Cruz and father, Mario Cruz.
Virginia went to beauty school, worked and retired as a Payroll Officer for the Department of Corrections for 30 years, and after retirement worked at the Shell Gas Station in Pueblo West until she fully retired. She spent the rest of her life traveling and taking care of her late husband Bob Lucero Sr. Virginia also enjoyed sewing/quilting and doing other crafts with friends and family.
She leaves behind her children, Michaele Marie (Jeff) Aschom, Julie Lynne (William) Cowden and Robert Abran (Rachel) Lucero Jr.; grandchildren, Tyrel (Stephanie) Cowden, Megan Cowden, Stephanie (John) Cowden/Jordan, Ashley Aschom, Brittany (Dustin) Baker, Anthony (Jamie) Aschom, Brenton Aschom, Tony (Amber) Fisher, Shea (Eric) Murphy, Luke Lucero, Shad Sugg, and Tevis (Dani) Brownlee; as well as, 10 great grandchildren, her mother, Alice Bargas/Cruz; brother, sister and many nieces and nephews.
She was known as Virginia to some, Mom to few and Nana to many. Virginia's wishes are being honored as she did not want to have any funeral services.
