Walter Cooper passed away May 24, 2023 in Canon City, CO. He was born on June 13, 1931 in Pueblo, CO to Francis and Elsie Cooper. Walter proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1948 to 1950. In October 1950, he married Doris Gessele, a marriage that lasted over 70 years. Walter was an avid sportsman and outdoorsman. He loved being outdoors hunting and river rafting as one of the first to raft in this area in 1958. Above all, his greatest love in life was his family. Walter is survived by his wife, Doris; children, Adrian, Kenneth, Karen, Wade, Warren and Randy; grandchildren, Heidi, Charisse, Nathan, Brian, Cali, Tracy, Kyle, Crystal and Zac; and 23 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two grandchildren, Kade and Adam. After cremation, Walter will be buried at Cotopaxi Cemetery.
