William Wriske Jr. Obituary

William “Bill” Wriske, Jr., age 65, passed away on February 6, 2026, in Florence, Colorado. Born on September 27, 1960, in Buck's County, Pennsylvania, Bill lived a quiet life, marked by strength, a strong work ethic, and dedication to family.
Bill grew up in Chicago and attended Roosevelt High School, where he was a member of the swim team. Though often the last one in the water, he had a knack for finishing first—a testament to his determination and spirit. Bill lived in Wisconsin for a short time then moved to Maple Park Illinois. There he pursued vocational training at Elgin Community College, focusing on welding as well as heating and air conditioning. His career began in Illinois with various welding jobs, most notably at Elgin Sweeper, where he contributed to building street sweepers. After relocating to Colorado, Bill initially worked moving houses before founding his own business—ABM Tree Service—where he specialized in tree removal and trimming. His entrepreneurial spirit and hands-on approach earned him respect among clients and peers alike.

Bill’s life was deeply rooted in family. He is survived by his son, William (Billy) Wriske III; his daughter, Ashley Wriske; and his stepdaughter Megan Hudson (Corey), along with grandson Lucus. He also leaves behind his siblings: Phil (Denise) Wriske, Dawn Semmerling, Cheryl (Joe) Meitl, and Melissa (Matt) Eckley; as well as many nieces and nephews who cherished his presence in their lives. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Cynthia (Davis) Wriske; his parents Anita
(Plangger) and William Sr.; his brother Keith Wriske; nephew Joe Meitl Jr.; and brother-in-law Scott Semmerling.

Bill had a kind heart and a dry sense of humor that endeared him to those around him. He was always there when needed—a dependable presence who offered support without fanfare. He served as a father figure to his nephew Curtis, working alongside him and spending nearly every weekend together following Curtis’s accident. Bill shared a birthday with his niece Amber and never missed an opportunity to connect with his siblings—even if it was just an accidental butt dial.
In quieter moments, Bill enjoyed working on cars with dreams of restoring a few classics someday. He found joy playing guitar or simply unwinding with television in the evenings. Bill’s memory will live on through the lives he touched—with love that endures beyond words. May his legacy bring comfort to all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held privately with family only, in Colorado.
